VTV.vn - One hundred and fifteen best journalism works have been selected for the 2021 National Press Awards, announced by the jury panel at a press briefing on June 17.

They include 10 A prizes, 22 B prizes, 48 C prizes and 35 consolation prizes, which were picked from over 1,700 works in the preliminary round, said Nguyen Duc Loi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

The 16th edition of the awards saw the participation of newspapers from all 63 provinces and cities throughout the country.

According to Loi, the entries promptly covered Vietnam’s major political events in 2021 such as the 13th National Party Congress and the elections of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

The works also reported on efforts to promote economic development, the fight against corruption, the protection of national sovereignty, the great national solidarity spirit, digital transformation across sectors, and sustainable poverty reduction.

Notably, reports on the COVID-19 pandemic accounted for a significant proportion of the works in all forms of journalism, with many vivid accounts, reflecting the dedication of reporters.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 21 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi.
