National "Don ca tai tu" singing festival opens

The opening ceremony was attended by Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

During the five-day event, 21 bands across Vietnam's southern region will participate in the festival. The festival, entitled "Amateur singing-treasure of the southern land", features art spaces, food tours, and competitions to highlight the south's musical and culinary specialties. A talk show on amateur singing and its tourism potential will also be held.
