Most National Assembly deputies agreed with the government’s report that the economy has improved with macro-economic stability, improved growth and inflation maintained at a low level.
In the afternoon session, restructuring of the agricultural sector was discussed. According to some National Assembly deputies, Vietnam’s agriculture sector needs better policies to improve productivity and quality. The current structure of the agricultural sector which is largely based on small-scale family-sized farms has been described as ineffective and unsuitable for the realities of a modern market.
