NA deputies continue socio-economic discussions
VTV.vn - NA deputies continued discussions on Vietnam’s socio-economic performance this morning. Both the health and agriculture and rural development ministers called for stronger efforts to curb the use of banned substances in farming.

During this morning’s session, National Assembly deputies agreed a GDP growth target of 6.5 percent. However, deputies also urged the government to take measures to boost economic reforms. Suggestions included more support for domestic enterprises, lowering interest rates to encourage production, restructuring public debts, and budget spending.

Reporting on food safety, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat admitted that despite the large amounts of effort, little headway had been. He said the ministry would step up measures to fight the use of banned substances in agricultural production. While Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien added that the ministry was keen to co-operate on the issue.
