VTV.vn - A mural painting was inaugurated at the campus of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in late June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam – Kazakhstan diplomatic ties.

The mural was created by painter Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, who earlier masterminded the ceramic mosaic mural along the Red River dyke in Hanoi, along with her staff.

The mural, which is14m long and 2m high, was adapted from an artwork produced by famous Kazakh artist Leyla Mahat - an associate professor of the faculty of painting and sculpture at the Kazakh National University of Arts. She is currently the chairperson of the Curatorial Board of Kulanshi Contemporary Art Centre and president of the Eurasian Academy of Arts.

The painting features typical cultural identities of Kazakh culture and the life of people in the Central Asian country.

Speaking at the ceremony, both Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov and President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen Phuong Nga highly appreciated the inauguration of the mural, describing it as a vivid symbol of the good relationship between the two countries.

According to the two diplomats, the painting will contribute to inspiring the young generation of Vietnam, especially future diplomats, to continue preserving and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
