Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of Party Central Committee and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Nen stressed that Vietnamese young intellectuals are representatives of the dynamic, creative and integrated Vietnamese youth in the host countries.
He called on participants at the forum to focus their discussions on the country’s development goals in order to join the common efforts of the Party, Government and people to reach higher achievements in the time to come.
Co-hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Vietnam Youth Federation, the forum aims to consolidate the network of Vietnamese young intellectuals around the world, while creating a venue for participants to promote their participation and contributions to the motherland’s construction, development, and international integration.
Themed ‘Vietnam 2045’, this year’s event also seeks initiatives and solutions to help Vietnam realise its socio, economic and cultural developments goals by 2045, when the country will celebrate its 100th founding anniversary.
The two-day forum was divided into four topics including promoting socio-economic development, improving people’s livelihoods, and enhancing the role of science-technology and the youth in facilitating national development.
