MoIT to run official investigation into Grab, Uber merger

The Vietnam Competition Authority under the MoIT will start the 180 day investigation after its announcement. They can extend the period if needed. After that, the agency will submit the case file to the Vietnam Competition Council for processing.

Earlier, the preliminary report showed that the merger between Grab and Uber in Vietnam formed a combined market share of more than 50%, which is suspected to have breached regulations on economic concentration under the country's Law on Competition 2004.
