Men praised for saving neighbours in deadly Hanoi fire

In his letter, the head of government said he was moved by the actions of Pham Quoc Luat, Nguyen Kim Long, Hoang Anh Tuan, and Dong Van Tuan, who used a ladder and hammer to smash the wall to rescue people who were trapped by the fire.

Noting that they are a classic example of the Vietnamese people’s spirit of bravery, righteousness and love, the Prime Minister asked the relevant agencies to commend them in an appropriate manner.

The Prime Minister said the fire was a very serious, tragic and extremely regrettable incident.

He urged people to enhance proactiveness in fire prevention and fighting and requested the Ministry of Public Security and local authorities to strictly enforce fire prevention law.
