Mekong Delta provinces work hard to stop COVID-19 spread
VTV.vn - Up to this point, 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta have reported new Covid 19 cases. Measures to prevent and control the pandemic are being tightened and several localities have implemented social distancing.

In Can Tho, Ninh Kieu Riverside Hotel and a part of Hai Ba Trung street, in Tan An ward, Ninh Kieu district, have been blocked to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19.

Thus, currently, Can Tho has three areas under lockdown. Yesterday, 188 cases of F1 and F2 related to 3 newly discovered Covid cases were urgently sampled for testing. In addition to social distancing, this locality is also strengthening control of people returning from pandemic areas.

The most concerning situations are in Dong Thap and Tien Giang where outbreaks in factories have been recorded, with the number of infections reaching more than 400 cases. In Dong Thap alone, on the morning of July 12, there had been 17 deaths related to Covid-19. The Ministry of Health has urgently mobilized medical forces and doctors from Can Tho Central General Hospital and Hue Central Hospital to support treatment efforts in Dong Thap province.

Currently, localities in the Mekong Delta are working hard to tighten pandemic prevention measures, particularly focusing on supervising people returning from pandemic areas and people from outside the province, as in recent times, the sources of infections in several localities mostly came from other areas.
