Measures to boost tra fish exports to the US

Prime minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to make reviews and come up with timely solutions.

In addition, the Prime Minister has urged the two ministries to process the proposals of the Vietnam Association of Seafood exporters and producers, (or VASEP), according to laws and regulations and report to the prime minister before the 10th of October.

In August 2017, the export turnover of Vietnamese Tra fish to to US reached 18.44 million USD, down 58,5%  compared to July and down  54,8% compared to the same period last year.

According to VASEP, Vietnamese Tra fish exporters faced difficulties after the US inspected 100% of Tra fish starting the 2nd of August.
