Master plan for Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone approved

The goal the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone is to become a dynamic and sustainable economic development area, focusing on tourism, services, urban, industrial, port and logistics centers, linking economic development with security, defence, resilience and adaptation to climate change.

Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone will be a key, multi-sector and multi-field economic zone with a focus on basic industry associated with the construction and efficient exploitation of Cua Lo Port, and developing industries associated with Dong Hoi Seaport in the Hoang Mai - Dong Hoi area.

This is also an important gateway for Central and Upper Laos and Northeast Thailand to access the central region of Vietnam; is a counterbalancing growth pole, closely and comprehensively linked to the general development of Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town, Cua Lo Town and the surrounding areas.
