Largest rooftop solar power system in Quang Binh put into operation

With a total capacity of over 926kWp from 2,232 photovoltaic panels, it is the largest rooftop solar power system in the province, expected to generate 4-5kWh per day with annual revenue of VND2 billion (US$86,000).

The VND13 billion (US$560,000) system was installed on the rooftop of a factory of Hai Hau Wood Processing Company in Quang Thuan Ward of Ba Don Town.

Deputy Director of Quang Binh Power Company Tran Xuan Cong said the investor can recover their costs after six years and enjoy the benefits onwards because photovoltaic systems usually have lifetimes of 25-30 years.

The investor expects that this project will meet the local electricity demand with surplus power to sell to the electric utility.
