VTV.vn - A delegation from Oudomxay province (Laos) handed over LAK80million (over US$8,646) to Vietnam’s Consul General in the Luang Prabang province of Laos Nguyen Dang Hung to help Vietnam address the consequences of the recent record flooding.

Vietnam’s Consul General in Luang Prabang, Nguyen Dang Hung, expressed his sincere thanks to the Party committee, authorities and people of Oudomxay province for their special sentiments toward Vietnam, especially citizens facing difficulties due to the recent flooding.

At the reception, Deputy Governor of Luang Prabang province Somchit Panyasack said that the assistance demonstrated the Lao people’s affection for Vietnamese people in general and their solidarity towards those in the flood-hit central provinces.

Once the information of the losses to the local people in the flood-hit localities was revealed, Oudomxay provincial Party committee and authorities mobilised all local officials, Party members and people to send donations to Vietnam, he added.

He also expressed his hope that the authorities and people in Vietnam’s central localities will soon overcome the typhoon’s consequences and stabilise their lives.
