Lao media highlights success of visit by Vietnamese State leader

President Phuc’s recent visit and his activities during the course of his trip made headlines of major Laotian newspapers, including Pasaxon, PathetLao, LaoPatthana, and Vientiane Mai.

Pasaxon, the mouthpiece of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), published an article on their front page titled “Outcomes of the Vietnamese President's official friendly visit to the Lao PDR”.

The purpose of the article served to affirm that the visit made an important contribution to strengthening and developing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between both sides.

The article also reviewed talks between the two top leaders, during which they affirmed to continue developing the bilateral ties in a deeper, more effective, and substantive manner. Both sides also agreed to designate 2022 as the “Year of Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship” in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 45th anniversary of the signing of Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

Along with detailing the visit’s various outcomes, members of the Laotian press also published several articles about the handover of the new Laos National Assembly House. This represented a gift from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to the Laotian sides, along with President Phuc's attendance and speech at the Laos National Assembly.
