VTV.vn - There are just two weeks left to complete a number of boarding schools located on the border.

Construction is now in a final push at many sites. This is one of four schools set to open this academic year in the border areas of Lao Cai Province. Each new school gives hundreds or even thousands of children better access to education in their home communities.

At Mường Khương Primary and Secondary Boarding School, construction has entered the final stage. The goal is to complete the project on schedule while ensuring quality for the new academic year.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director, Duc Tuan Company, Lao Cai Province said: "We are now in the final push. The joint venture has mobilised maximum manpower and equipment to meet the the province's direction and complete the school in time for the new academic year".

Local authorities are conducting regular on-site inspections and addressing difficulties promptly. They are also working with the investor and contractors to set clear tasks and deadlines.

Nguyen Hong Hung, Chairman, Muong Khuong Commune People’s Committee, Lao Cai Province said: "Around 400 to 450 workers are currently on site. We supervise the project around the clock to ensure both progress and quality. There is no rushing work just to finish. When the workers rest, we rest".

Preparations are also underway to establish the school's management structure. Student enrolment is also in progress, ready for the new school year.

"We have developed management and maintenance procedures, with clear responsibilities assigned to each individual and team. This will ensure the school’s facilities are properly managed, operated, and maintained", Mong Thi Duyen, Principal, Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Lao Cai Province.

Four schools are scheduled to be completed and put into use in the 2026-2027 academic year: Y Tý, Pha Long, A Mú Sung và Mường KhươngPrimary and Secondary Boarding Schools.

These schools are helping improve the learning environment for children in remote border areas, while giving them more opportunities to study closer to home.
