The statement was made by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh during his working session with Lai Chau Province’s leaders on socio-economic situation, defence and security and foreign affairs.
Speaking at the working session, the Deputy PM said that despite difficult conditions, the Party committee, authorities and people in the locality are united in socio-economic development, ensuring defence and security, foreign affairs and Covid-19 prevention and control.
He asked the Lai Chau authorities to closely manage the borders, contributing to building a peaceful border line.
The Deputy PM reiterated the Government's view of willingness to carry out the transfer of public investment capital among ministries, agencies and localities to overcome the slow disbursement.
According to the General Statistics Office, every 1% of investment will contribute to 0.06% of GDP growth. Therefore, in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Government identifies the focus on disbursing public investment of nearly US$28 billion (VND633 trillion) as the responsibility of the whole country.
On the same day, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh visited and talked with officials and soldiers at Ma Lu Thang Border Guard and Ma Lu Thang Border Gate in Phong Tho District.
