Kite Festival kicks off in Thua Thien-Hue

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Dung said that kite making in Hue has gained popularity among the international community by being featured in major exhibitions and festivals held around the world. The traditional craft has been introduced in Indonesia, India, Thailand, France and international sea festivals hosted in Vietnam, he noted.

The festival will include several kite flying shows, an exhibition on beautiful kites, and workshops on kite making and decoration. The event, which gathers the top kite makers in the province, will run until June 12.
