Kien Giang aims to develop maritime economy

During the period of 2011 to 2015, the growth of the maritime economy was at 11.4% per year and accounted for 73% of the provincial GDP.

With the objective of "Building a strategy to develop the marine and island economy", Kien Giang will continue building more high-speed and high-quality ferries in order to develop tourism, protect the environment, and combine economic development with the protection of security at sea, according to the Resolution of the 10th National Party Congress.
