First released in 2002 starring Matt Damon, the Bourne series has re-defined the spy action movie with mysterious plot in the modern time. Intensive gun battles, breathtaking chasing scenes and unexpected punch-lines has become Bourne’s distinguished features, which put him on the scale with Ethan Hunt (Mission: Impossible) or James Bond (007).
The series is also a commercial success with over 1.2 billion dollars box office worldwide, which the opening weekend box office of each part has topped the charts in more than 40 countries. In particular, part 3 entitled The Bourne Ultimatum was honored to win the Oscar in 3 categories, including Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.
In prior parts, Bourne always led audiences from surprise to surprise on his journey to find memories upon pursuit of CIA. Although not having appeared in The Bourne Legacy, he was still mentioned as an essential link to a new agent – Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner.
The fifth sequel of the series is titled Jason Bourne. A trailer was premiere within the framework of Super Bowl 50.
The blockbuster is directed by Paul Greengass – an Oscar winner and the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Legacy – along with Matt Damon and Christopher Rouse. The movie stars Julia Stiles returning as CIA Nicky Parson and Alicia Vikander – a Swedish actress, well-known for Ex Machina (2015) and The Danish Girl (2016).
Jason Bourne is schedule to premiere on July 29th 2016.
