VTV.vn - A Japan Tourism Promotion Conference held on Thursday in Đà Nẵng heard that some 230,000 Vietnamese visited Japan and more than 700,000 Japanese tourists came to Vietnam last year.

Attendees also heard that numbers had increased this year and were targeted to increase in the following years. The event was organised by the Office of Japan Tourism Promotion Agency in Vietnam, attracting more than 70 travel businesses of the two countries.

The focus of the conference was travel in Vietnam's central region. Japanese travel agencies have introduced useful information on tourism in their country to Vietnamese counterparts, sharing ideas for marketing to famous destinations in Japan such as Osaka, Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Kyoto.

Since 2003, the Vietnamese government has implemented a visa exemption policy for Japanese citizens to come to Vietnam in 15 days.
