Island to be connected to national grid
VTV.vn - The Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Group will install a 22 kilo volt cable to bring electricity to over 200 households on Ho Chi Minh City’s Thiềng Liềng Island.

With total capital of 1.8 million US dollars, the link to the national grid will bring electricity through 4 600 kilo volt transformer stations. Located 70 kilometres from the city centre, people on the island still rely on solar energy, which is not enough for production and daily use. When the construction is finished in 3 months, local residents will enjoy power from the national grid.
