Islamic world prepares for Eid al-Adha

In preparation for the holiday, Muslims purchase various livestock to ensure a supply of fresh meat during the festival. Muslims will dress up in their best attire to make their morning prayers, and then visit family and friends bearing food and gifts.

Eid al-Adha marks the beginning of the Haj or the religious pilgrimage to the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which is one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith.
