Investigation into mass fish deaths continues

The Ministry of Public Security will collect evidence to prosecute any legal cases if laws have been broken. The Ministry of Science and Technology was tasked to quickly identify the cause of the mass fish deaths. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs as well as people’s committees in the four affected provinces will propose support policies for affected households. These agencies will work with the Ministry of Health to deploy any measures that can curb environmental damage.

Also in relation to the massive death of fish along the country’s central coastal provinces, Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng held a working session with leaders of Quảng Bình Province and visited affected fish farms in the Đồng Hới city on Friday. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed sympathy with all the difficulties that fishermen in Quảng Bình Province are facing at the moment. The leader also praised the efforts of the provincial authority and fishermen in improving the situation. He shared that the government and leaders from related ministries, departments and provinces were urgently implementing measures to support locals in the affected area as soon as possible.
