Hung Yen Schoolboy Confidently Claims Olympia Crown

This week’s match featured four contestants: Nguyen Huy Quang Minh from Thai Binh High School for the Gifted in Hung Yen, Nguyen Duc Long Hai from Thanh Oai A High School in Hanoi, Nguyen Ngoc Mai Anh from Tran Phu High School in Ho Chi Minh City, and Tran Khanh Ngoc from Tran Hung Dao High School for the Gifted in Lam Dong.

In the Individual Warm-up round, Mai Anh and Khanh Ngoc   scored 30 points respectively, while Quang Minh and Long Hai earned 20 points each. After the General Warm-up section, Khanh Ngoc took the lead with 50 points, while Long Hai remained at the bottom with 10 points. Quang Minh and Mai Anh were tied at 40 points.

In the Overcome Obstacle round, Quang Minh was the first contestant to ring the bell after the second clue, earning him the right to answer the main keyword. He was followed by Khanh Ngoc, Long Hai, and Mai Anh. Notably, all four contestants gave the same answer.

As the first to respond, Quang Minh confidently answered: “Blood type”. His correct  answer  raised   his score to 100 points,   putting him at the top of the standings. At that point, Long Hai remained in last place with 20 points.

The Speed-up round gave contestants a major opportunity to increase their scores. Quang Minh continued to excel, collecting a significant sum of points. By the end of the round, the student from Hung Yen   still held first place with 230 points. Khanh Ngoc followed with 160 points, Mai Anh had 120 points, and Long Hai reached 80 points.

As the leading contestant, Quang Minh  advanced to the Finish round, where he opted for a set of three 20-point questions. He failed to answer two of the three questions, losing 20 points to Khanh Ngoc. However, his overall score remained unchanged at 230 points.

Khanh Ngoc selected a package of three 20-point questions and answered all three correctly, moving into the lead with 240 points.

Mai Anh then chose the 20-20-30 package. She could not answer the first question, which allowed  Quang Minh   to regain the lead unexpectedly with 250 points. She earned 20 points on the second question, then  used her Star of Hope  on the final question, but failed to give the correct answer. Mai Anh finished with 90 points.

Finally, Long Hai entered the Finish round with three 20-point questions and ended the competition with 60 points. With a final score of 250 points, Quang Minh officially claimed this week’s Road to Olympia Mount Laurel wreath.
