Hue to become a national urban heritage

However, around the world, urban heritage includes monumental constructions and architectural elements, forming a unified whole or an urban spatial structure reflecting the characteristics of a period. Based on this concept, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province proposed to develop Hue City to become a national urban heritage location.

At the Conference on the Construction and Development of Thua Thien Hue Province to 2030, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province said Hue city is unique in Vietnam because Hue is successfully preserving both the tangible and intangible heritage treasures, from ancient times to the modern day. The values of the past and present are both nutured and co-existing in Hue. If this proposal is approved, Hue will be Vietnam's first urban heritage city.
