Hue completes DNA sampling from 7,200 martyrs graves
VTV.vn - Huế City has completed the excavation of the graves of unidentified war martyrs to collect remains for DNA sampling at all 42 cemeteries in the city.

The work was completed ahead of schedule, eight months earlier than the deadline set by the National Steering Committee.

More than 7,200 unidentified graves were excavated across the 42 cemeteries. More than half have yielded samples for DNA testing. Some cemeteries recorded particularly high sampling rates, including Vinh Hiển, Thủy Thanh, Hương Long, Lộc Điền and Lộc An.

Huế City will continue to accelerate efforts to search for and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese war martyrs in Laos. At the same time, it will step up domestic searches and recovery efforts, including the search for mass graves of martyrs.
