VTV.vn - Aston Villa brushed aside recent poor results to beat Newcastle United 2-0 at home on Monday and create some breathing space above the Premier League drop zone as Conor Hourihane scored.

The win snapped a three-game losing league run for Villa and took them up two places to 15th on 14 points from 13 games, four clear of the relegation zone. Newcastle are 14th on 15.

* Paris St Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has told Zinedine Zidane to stop fantasising about prising away forward Kylian Mbappe, after the Real Madrid coach declared his admiration for his French compatriot ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash.

* Buoyant Bayern Munich are looking forward to visiting former nemesis Red Star Belgrade in a bid to secure top spot in Champions League Group B, coach Hansi Flick said on Monday. The German giants top the group with a maximum 12 points from four games, five more than Tottenham Hotspur, meaning they will secure the top spot with a match to spare if they beat Red Star at their Rajko Mitic stadium on Tuesday.

* Feyenoord have been banned from selling tickets to their fans for next month's Europa League game at Porto following crowd trouble in their match at Young Boys in Basel, European soccer's governing body UEFA said on Monday. UEFA fined Feyenoord 50,000 euros due to the behaviour of their supporters during the 2-0 defeat at Switzerland's Young Boys last month and an additional 5,000 euros for "acts of damage".

* Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo's knee problem is getting better but he still might have to sit out their Champions League match at home to Atletico Madrid, coach Maurizio Sarri said on Monday. The 34-year-old has been troubled by pain in his knee for several weeks although Juve, the Portugal national side and Ronaldo himself insist it is not serious.

* Tottenham Hotspur are not pursuing Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a potential signing because the Premier League club have a top striker in Harry Kane, manager Jose Mourinho said on Monday. Ibrahimovic spent one-and-a-half seasons with Manchester United under Mourinho, where he scored 29 goals and helped the club win the League Cup and Europa League, before joining Los Angeles Galaxy.

* Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will be sidelined for a few weeks with a tendon injury that could rule him out of next month's Manchester derby, manager Pep Guardiola said on Monday. A limping Aguero was replaced by Gabriel Jesus in Saturday's 2-1 win over Chelsea and Guardiola said they would need a "miracle" if the Argentine was to be fit for the Premier League match against rivals Manchester United on Dec. 7.

* Dennis Chung's stoppage-time equaliser helped the Philippines U22 men's football team to a 1-1 draw against Cambodia on the first matchday of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games football tournament in Manila on Monday.
