VTV.vn - A reported low pressure system has strengthened in power and is expected to bring more rains to the North from Sunday evening until Tuesday, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

In order to cope with natural disasters and emergency situations on the reservoir in Hoa Binh, an emergency respond drill was held on Saturday night by the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

More than 250 policemen and military soldiers participated in the event. The exercise aimed to help relevant units actively coordinate in operating the inter-reservoir management mechanism in emergency situations, while ensuring the safety of the system of Hoa Binh and Son La reservoirs, dikes and downstream systems, for the Red River Delta provinces in case of heavy rain and floods.

The drill was successfully organised with smooth coordination between the rescue forces.
