VTV.vn - Due to the current break out of the African Swine Fever in the North, the price of pigs is decreasing.

Many retailers are taking advantage of this opportunity by transporting pigs from the North to the South to sell. The department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Ho Chi Minh City required businesses to stop sending pigs to the South for consumption.

Ho Chi Minh City is the biggest pork importer in Vietnam, so the city has strengthened inspection and control of slaughter facilities to ensure imported meat source has a clear origin. There have been seven provinces and cities across the country affected by African Swine Fever. The number of infected and destroyed pigs amounted to nearly 6,000.
