VTV.vn - The southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City has commenced construction on 13 major infrastructure projects with a total cost of VND3.5 trillion (US$150.7 million).

They include a VND440 billion (US$19 million) flyover on the Hanoi Highway in front of the new Mien Dong Bus Terminal to improve traffic in the area when the bus terminal comes into service.

Another important project is My Thuy 3 Bridge, part of the My Thuy Interchange project, which will cost a total of VND2 trillion (US$86.1 million). With a length of 124 metres and featuring six lanes, the project is aimed to reduce traffic to Cat Lai Port.

In the new urban zone of Thu Thiem, the local authorities also kicked off the construction of technical infrastructure across an area of 77,600 square metres in order to enhance its value when auctioning land use rights.

Other projects include bridges and roads to improve connections within the city, the dredging of the Soai Rap River, a water drainage system in Binh Chanh District and infrastructure in the Nuoc Den Canal area.
