HCMC seeks US investors

At the event, the Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Trần Vĩnh Tuyến reiterated that HCMC, as the leading city of the country’s economy, offers many investment opportunities. The city now enjoys investments from more than 60 countries, with the US ranking 12^th in terms of registered capital. But this number is still well below potential.

Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman HCMC People’s Committee said: We hope more investors from the US, especially overseas Vietnamese, invest in Hồ Chí Minh City. Authorities will create favourable policies on tax and land, and improve administrative procedures to support businesses.

Some issues need further improvement, such as infrastructure and labour. City authorities answered questions from investors, who showed interest in business opportunities in the city.

Many similar conferences on investment have been held in the US recently, and more must be done to improve the effectiveness of these events.
