The city's economic growth in the first three months reached 7.46%. Ho Chi Minh City continues confirm its position as one of the country's leading economic hubs. Despite positive results, the municipal leaders want more effort to achieve the year's targets. Increasing support to firms and roles of local authorities are among those priorities.
The city recorded good results in terms of trade, services, foreign investment, state budget collection and establishment of new firms. However, according to feedback from local enterprises, some officials and agencies have been too slow to implement suggestions from meetings between the city and the authorities. Therefore, in second quarter, the city will closely monitor implementation of the agreed tasks.
Regarding construction and investment, the city will establish two interdisciplinary working groups but unifying functions, which means the leader of one group can decide and take responsibility in both sectors. This model will help reduce much time on completing procedures in investment and construction.
Also from April 2nd, a specific team under chairman of the people's committee on monitoring and inspecting the implementation of the tasks will come into operation.
