Hanoi to host various activities to welcome the New Year

VTV.vn - A wide variety of cultural and artistic activities will beheld on the evening of December 31 to celebrate the New Year of 2020.

The information was released by the Hanoi municipal Department of Culture and Sports at a press conference on December 27.

The major activities will be staged around Hanois’ famous Hoan Kiem Lake, with an annual Countdown party which will take place at the Ly Thai To Flower Garden.

Prominent personal, who gained outstanding achievements invarious fields in the international arena, will be honoured at the programme. They included Labour Hero Ho Quang Cua who produced the ‘World's Best Rice 2019’, ST25; the group of Vietnamese engineers who created Micro Dragon, the first satellite ‘made by Vietnamese’ launched into space; and singer Son Tung MT-P with his impressive and successful ‘Sky Tour 2019’.

In addition, audiences will have the chance to revel in performances and exchange with famous singers, such as Phuong Uyen, Luu Huong Giang, Nhat Thuy, Thieu Bao Trang and Oplus band.

At the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Dinh Tien Hoang Street, an art programme entitled ‘Tiger Remix 2020 – Hanoi’ is expected to delight attendees, with various exciting performances by famous singers, including Soobin Hoang Son, Toc Tien, Min, Tuan Hung and Da LAB band.

The ‘Countdown Party – Voyage of time’ programme will be also another option to choose from for the capital city’s people and visitors to welcome the New Year 2020.

On the evening of December 31 and January 1, 2020, the Hanoi municipal Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with districts to hold various cultural and art programmes to bring in the new year. Through the events, people will also have the chance to learn more about the traditional art forms and contemporary arts of the country.
