Hanoi police force awarded Military Exploit Order

Speaking at the event, Minister of Public Security, General To Lam praised the force's efforts and achievements in 2021, particularly in fulfilling its role to ensure security and social order, as well as in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic within the capital city.

He asked the force to take the lead in observing guidelines, policies, decrees, and resolutions, which are adopted by the Party, State, the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, and Hanoi municipal authorities, on maintaining national security, ensuring social order, and building a strong police force.

He also expressed his thanks for the Hanoi municipal authorities, Fatherland Front, functional agencies, and organisations for supporting Hanoi’s police force in completing their assigned tasks.

According to a report reviewing the force’s operation throughout 2021, the force has kept close watch on the situation at home and abroad, so as not to be taken by surprise by any incident.

It has also actively consulted authorities in building and implementing decrees, programmes and plans on ensuring social security and order within the capital.

It has made significant contributions to ensuring absolute safety and security during the country’s important political events, as well as activities of Party and State leaders and international delegations.

Notably, in 2021, Hanoi’s police force mobilised more than 14,000 officers and soldiers to join the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, who were assigned to work with COVID-19 response teams and COVID-19 checkpoints at city entrances.

The force has donated nearly 170 tonnes of food, medical equipment and 3.9 billion VND to disadvantaged people whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.
