Hanoi links metro, bus tickets

The system covers the city's bus network and the Cat Linh – Ha Dong and Nhon – Cau Giay Metro lines.

Passengers can use a chip-enabled physical card or a virtual card on their phones for buses, BRT and Metro gates. Intergrated monthly passes will start at around 9.6 US dollars, 40 percent cheaper than buying separate passes.

The move is expected to make public transport more convenient and encourage wider use of buses and Metro services.
