About 800 participants and hundreds of artisans from the villages will join the festival, which will focus on the role of the artist and express Hmong culture.
Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ha Giang said: We organise Hmong culture day to promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups. This also contributes to national security by maintaining national frontiers.
Traditional villages in Ha Giang are actively preparing for the festival. The district's gateway to the global geopark, Quản Bạ, will bring products such as Thanh Vân corn wine, Lùng Tám brocade, and traditional Hmong music.
“The preservation of cultural identity and the development of traditional craft villages serves the economic and social development of the people and improves their lives”, said Hang Duong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Prov.
Though the land is arid, there is a lack of food, and travel is difficult. But with a little ingenuity, the province has found a new kind of tourism resource. Quản Bạ and Hà Giang are now preparing for the Buckwheat flower season. From corn and flax, Buckwheat flowers are becoming a method of poverty reduction for the Hmong, proving that cultural tourism is the way forward for the mountainous provinces.
