General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great friend of Russia

Vyacheslav Nikonov expressed his condolences on the passing of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

The political researcher emphasised: "Today, I received sad news from Vietnam. General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong has passed away. He had also served as the President of Vietnam. President of Russia Vladimir Putin met him during his recent state visit to this country. We extend our most sincere condolences to our Vietnamese friends."

Vyacheslav Nikonov concluded that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was truly a great friend of Russia who made significant contributions to the development of relations between the Russian Federation and Vietnam. He bid farewell to comrade Nguyen Phu Trong.
