VTV.vn - FPT has organised the FPT AI Conference 2021 (FAIC 2021) with the theme “Breakthrough to lead in the AI era”, which is taking place from August 17 to 21.

The conference aims to provide information on FPT's AI panorama from strategic orientation to specific actions to realise the aspiration of helping Vietnam become an AI centre of the region and the world.

AI experts in the world and in Vietnam share their knowledge and experience of becoming world-class AI experts with Vietnamese youths through the seminar "Standard to become a global AI expert".

AI is considered one of the breakthrough technologies in the fourth industrial revolution (4.0), promoting the digital transformation of businesses and organisations around the world. According to Analytics Insight's forecast, the global AI market will reach over US$150 billion by 2023. Major technology companies in the world are focusing strongly on this technology.

Speaking at FAIC 2021, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared that FPT has the aspiration to become the world's leading company in digital transformation. This also means that FPT must rise to the top position in the world in AI. The Group also plans to spend VND300 billion on AI research and development activities in the next five years.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, FPT's AI research has effectively supported the prevention, screening, tracking, and guidance of medical isolation at home. The FPT.AI platform also helps increase the efficiency of the nationwide pandemic tracing team. The platform has made 2.6 million calls to more than 1.6 million Vietnamese citizens so far, contributing to the detection of thousands of cases exhibiting symptoms of infection. The corporation is also building a chatbox to provide information and guidance on F0 healthcare in home isolation, thus helping to reduce the burden on the health system and improve treatment efficiency.

With the desire to inspire and provide support for Vietnamese young people on the path to conquering AI technology, at FAIC 2021, FPT has organised connections for Vietnamese young people, especially IT students, with leading AI experts in the world and in Vietnam. Vietnamese students also have the opportunity to meet and exchange with Professor Yoshua Bengio, Founder and Scientific Director of Mila - Quebec AI Institute, who is known as "The Godfather of AI".
