Fisheries surveillance force receives new ships
VTV.vn - The Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Force received two modern ships from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on Wednesday, October 11.

They are among the seven newly designed ships built following the National Assembly Resolution.

The two ships are 56 meters long and have a top speed of 18 knots. They can endure a category 8 storm and operate at sea for 50 days at a stretch. They will be used to control, detect, prevent and handle violations along the maritime boundary and monitor fishing activities.

As a rescue ship for unfortunate fishermen at sea, the ships are also used to protect Vietnam's sovereignty. Equipped with the latest means for inspecting fisheries resources at sea, the two vessels are set to be sent to the northernmost and southernmost parts of Vietnam.
