First Vietnamese artificial heart transplant doctor honoured

Professor Bui Duc Phu, Director of Hue Central Hospital is one of the pioneers who set the foundation for cardiovascular surgery in Vietnam. In 2012, the professor was the first person to successfully transplant a heart from a dead body. The Global Award 2015 was organised by the San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City sister city program. It was first held in 2011 to honour individuals and organisations that had significant contributions to the community.
