The initiative aims to create a distinctive cultural–historical–technological space, positioning itself as an attractive destination for both domestic and international Web3 communities.
Nguyễn Vân Hiền, Vice President and Secretary-General of VBA, who spearheaded the initiative to bring the statue to Vietnam, emphasized: "This is the fifth Satoshi statue worldwide, a symbol of decentralization, technological spirit and the aspiration for innovation. Before Vietnam, similar statues have been installed in Hungary, Switzerland, El Salvador and Japan — each serving as a recognition of the profound contribution of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator to global financial technology."
The Satoshi Statue unveiled in Hanoi
The Satoshi Statue unveiled in Hanoi is known as the "disappearing" version, designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi. The artwork creates a unique visual effect: viewed head-on, the statue appears to vanish — echoing the way Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared after building the Bitcoin network and entrusting it to the global community. Picozzi dedicated 21 months to the design and experimentation to capture the ethos of Bitcoin and the culture of decentralization.
Earlier, Hungary introduced a bronze faceless version titled "We Are All Satoshi", designed by sculptors Réka Gergely and Tamás Gilly. That piece allows visitors to see their own reflection in the statue, conveying the message that anyone could be Satoshi.
The Blockchain Gallery itself is designed as a meeting point between technology and art, where lines of code are transformed into emotions, and the history of blockchain, Bitcoin and digital assets is reimagined through creativity. It features artworks blending oil painting with AI technology, created over months by young artists under VBA’s guidance, narrating blockchain’s journey from its early days to its global breakthrough.

"Blockchain Gallery demonstrates that blockchain is not just a technology but also a culture — shaping values in real life. For the first time in Vietnam, the public can immerse themselves in an exhibition dedicated to blockchain, digital assets, and the innovative spirit of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," Hiền said.
Phan Đức Trung, Chairman of VBA and 1Matrix, announced that the first Satoshi Statue and Blockchain Gallery in Vietnam are located at the 1Matrix headquarters in Times City, Hanoi, and will be open to the public every Saturday.
The event attracted the participation of numerous government regulatory agencies and more than 300 attendees from Web3 communities across the country
"To fully convey the ‘disappearing’ meaning of the Satoshi Statue, we chose a location overlooking vast open space and backed by the Red River — symbolizing our wish that the development of digital assets in Vietnam will remain a ceaseless flow, nourishing the growth of the nation’s digital economy," Trung stressed.
