VTV.vn - In the first 6 months of 2017, Ho Chi Minh city attracted 2.15 million USD in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which is double the number of last year, with majority of investors coming from South Korea.

Ho Chi Minh city is also one of the leading provinces in Vietnam in attracting FDI from South Korea. The Vietnam- South Korea Free Trade Agreement has taken effect. Now, in addition to the increased investment from large corporations such as Samsung and LG, the tax rate on imported goods in forms of material components from South Korea to Vietnam has been reduced to 0% this year. This is also the reason for the trade surplus increase with South Korea recently.
