In response to the National Digital Transformation Day (October 10) and implementing VTV's 2024 Digital Transformation Plan, on October 9, Vietnam Television (VTV) organized several activities, including a technology exhibition themed "Applying New Technology to Drive Digital Transformation in Television," the launch ceremony of the National Online Digital Television Platform VTVGo, and a technology seminar titled "Building Infrastructure and Applying Technology in Digital Transformation at Vietnam Television."
Notably, the technology and technical exhibition was a new feature compared to previous years' events. Held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on October 9 at the lobby of the Vietnam Television Center building, the exhibition featured six booths from domestic and international solution providers.
In addition to exploring and discovering new technologies, participants were able to experience the latest version of the VTVGo app, which is pre-installed on smart TVs. They also got to use remote controls with an integrated VTVGo button. Visitors to the exhibition also received tech-related gifts from various partners.
The highlight of the event series was the launch ceremony of the National Online Digital Television Platform, VTVGo. During the event, the audience reflected on VTVGo’s 10-year development journey.
Launched in 2014 with the initial goal of providing audiences with free access to VTV’s programs, after years of development and improvement, VTVGo has become a familiar app to tens of millions of viewers across the country and around the world. Currently, VTVGo has over 8 million regular users, including 6 million on mobile devices and 2 million on smart TVs. VTVGo is available in all app stores for mobile devices and smart TVs, with 47 million installations, and is consistently one of the most downloaded apps.
The launch of the National Online Digital Television Platform was followed by a technology seminar titled "Building Infrastructure and Applying Technology in Digital Transformation at Vietnam Television."
The seminar was divided into two sessions, featuring guest speakers including Mr. Nguyen The Tung - Deputy Director of the Information Technology and Television Technology Center (VTV); Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - Director of the Television Engineering Center (VTV); Mr. Pham Anh Chien - Deputy Director of the Digital Content Production and Development Center (VTV), along with executives from technology and digital infrastructure companies.
