East Asia Summit held in Singapore

At the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for members of ASEAN to work towards regional prosperity and stability and to resolve any disputes using international laws and peaceful methods.

The summit has approved five high-level declarations including plastic waste prevention at sea and at ASEAN smart cities. The Prime Minister also attended the closing ceremony of the 33rd ASEAN Summit where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong handed over the 2019 ASEAN chairmanship to the Thai Prime Minister.
