VTV.vn - Vietnam wants to directly export its goods to major distribution channels by 2020. Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) held a large-scale promotion in France and Italy to introduce Vietnamese products and connect enterprises.

The programme featured over 20 Vietnamese businesses in food & beverage, agro-products, wood products, and household appliances.

In Italy & France, Vietnam’s business delegation held exhibitions to introduce Vietnamese products, and visited supermarkets to learn about the European standards of quality management. The delegation also met with top retailers in Europe: Coop and Conad of Italy, and Casino and Auchan of France. The four retailers have said they will create favourable conditions for Vietnamese products to enter their international channels.

Giancarlo Ferrari, General Director, Legacoop, Italy said: We welcome Vietnam’s products to our distribution channels, such as tropical fruit, textile products, and toys. Currently, we have imported Vietnamese wood products and coffee, which are gaining more local popularity.

"We will distribute more of Vietnam's products such as mango, pineapple, dragonfruit, and lychee. Increased sales of Vietnamese goods show our consumers' interest in good quality and reasonable prices." said Jacques Fourvel, Consultant to the Casino Group President

Participating firms shared that linking directly to retailers in demanding markets like Europe is an efficient way to bring goods to consumers, and will also improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.

Nguyen Thai Quynh Le, Manager, Dien Quang JSC. said: I think the trip is a really good chance for promotion. We have a chance to learn more about foreign partners, while they can also understand more about our products.

This is the first time that the MOIT has held such a large-scale promotional programme that directly links Vietnamese firms with large retailers in Europe.

Ho Thi Kim Hoa, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Vietnam said: After the trip, some enterprises will have a distribution partnership right away, while some will learn to improve their quality and design to meet European standards.

The MOIT is actively supporting enterprises to export
