Where We Belong opens with a very personal and realistic account of Virginia Mary Lockett's work in Vietnam over the past 20 years. Virginia first visited Vietnam in 1995. She and her husband flew to Da Nang in 2006 with the proceeds from the sale of their house. She has worked in several institutions, focusing on two main patient groups: stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Her decision to "enlist" at the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital was made in 2010. Here, she performed direct patient examinations and treatments, specializing in stroke and traumatic brain injury patients, children with delayed motor development, and pain management for musculoskeletal disorders. In addition to improving people's health, her medical adventure left a mark of affection. Virginia Mary Lockett, 71, continues to provide direct patient care every day, fostering a positive environment for patients at the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital.
In order to get 40 minutes of footage to air, the production team had to select from more than 60 hours of footage, which resulted from more than a year of close observation of the characters and seven months of filming in numerous locations both domestically and abroad, overcoming numerous challenges.
The film Where We Belong will be broadcast on November 2 at 21:10 on VTV1. Stay tuned!
