Divestment from SOEs surpasses 1.2 billion USD

VTV.vn - According to the Steering Committee for Innovation and Enterprise Development, the Vietnamese government has approved the plan of equitizing a number of state-owned enterprises with a total value of over 1.7 billion USD.

Recently, the Initial Public Offering  (IPO) and selling shares of the state-owned enterprises to sixteen strategic firms resulted in over 966 million USD of return. At the same time, the divestment from 42 state-owned enterprises have also yielded 240 million USD. In total, the divestment plan after the first six months of 2018 has resulted in over 1.2 billion USD. Further inspections are being carried out to identify governmental personnel who do not follow the direction of the government.
