Discussiong on IUU fishing

This is to assess the results so far in the implementation agaisnt IUU fishing in Vietnam. The event was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, also Head of the Committee.

The meeting took place four months ahead of the European Commission's inspections over Vietnam's implementation of the EC recommendations after two years of the "Yellow Card" warning. In this inspection, the team will examine four groups of recommendations by the EC, including legal framework; monitoring system, law enforcement and traceability of aquatic resources.

If failing on those issues, Vietnam may be identified as a non-cooperative country and subject to a "Red Card".
