Speaking at an online meeting on July 9 with leaders of the four southern localities, Deputy PM Dam, who is also head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, stressed that attention to must be paid to controlling the operation of agencies, factories and enterprises following the direction of maintaining absolute safety in production and mobilising people to stay at home, only going out when absolutely necessary, while strictly handing any violation.
He also requested appropriate adjustment of collecting samples for COVID-19 tests in areas which are being imposed social distancing in order to avoid cross-infection.
The Ho Chi Minh municipal People’s Committee launched an emulation campaign entitled ‘Expanding the safe areas on the city’s COVID-19 map’ on July 9, encouraging residential areas, communes and townships, Thu Duc City and districts to fully implement the Prime Minister’s Directive 16, which lays out the strictest conditions for social distancing rules, as well as pandemic prevention and control measures adopted by the city’s authorities.
The campaign aimed to reduce the number of COVID-19 infection cases in the city, thus expanding the green areas in the city’s COVID-19 map.

Yesterday morning, a delegation from Phu Yen Province’s Journalists Association in collaboration with Khanh Hoa-based D&T Export Trade Production Ltd. Co. visited and presented gifts to people in Tuy Hoa City and Tuy An District.
In Tuy Hoa City and the communes An Nghiep, An Dan and An Hoa Hai of Tuy An District, the delegation delivered 9,000 cans of bird's nest and 750kg of rice worth VND 120 million in total to locals.
On the occasion, representatives of Phu Yen Province’s Newspaper presented 200 protective suits, 5,000 medical masks, and antiseptic solution to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)'s chapter in Tuy An District in order to support the locality’s fight against COVID-19.
