COVID-19 has adverse effect on leather and footwear industry

Some European partners have stopped providing raw materials for Vietnamese businesses and some orders have even been cancelled. It's been forecast that the industry will barely reach this year's export target of 25 billion USD.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also requested local leather and footwear units to have specific plans to cope with the complicated developments in virus-hit regions and global markets, and plans to resume operations once the pandemic is under control.
